MINDSET: Five Tips to Immediately Improve Your Mindset

You’ll know by now that we’re huge fans of the power of a positive mindset (if that’s news to you – where have you been!?) and the difference it can make. It’s no understatement that mindset is the key to a great life, better opportunities, increased happiness and more success.

The trouble is – it’s hard to put it into practice. With life’s constant surprises, curve-balls and challenges it’s easy to fall back into old habits and old thought processes.

It’s what makes mindfulness a journey rather than a destination – and to help you on your way we’ve put together five quick tips for keeping your mindset on track when life has other ideas!

Choose courage over fear
Fear is unapologetically the number one killer of dreams! It makes you lose focus, wastes your time, kills your productivity and stops you from realising your potential. But you don’t have to let your fear define you. Next time you’re feeling afraid, take a step back and analyse what it is that you’re afraid of – and ask yourself if it really is that bad. You’ll often find that your desire to achieve your goal far outweighs any fear that’s holding you back.


Believe in yourself
We can’t underline this one enough – you need to be your own number one fan! If there’s one thing we’ve seen time and time again amongst the athletes and adventurers we’ve met is that they believe they can achieve their goals and beat both their competitors and themselves. Trust you can achieve your dreams – and use that as the basis for a winning mindset.

Surround yourself with positive people
We’re a reflection of the people around us and the labels they give us. If you find yourself spending time with people who over-shadow you, hold you back or cast negativity over your aspirations – find ways to meet new people and make new friends who lift you up and spur you on.


Have a purpose and vision
If you don’t know where you’re going, you won’t know which road to take – or even if you’ve got there! Having a plan not only helps you to focus, but if you stumble on the way – which we’re all going to do – it helps you get back on track.


Be kind to yourself
Don’t wait on the end goal – find ways to reward and motivate yourself on the way. Build important milestones in your plan and, whether it’s with a little air-punch or a lavish holiday away, be sure to celebrate them and what you’ve achieved.


Building a positive mindset doesn’t happen overnight, and it takes dedication and hard work – but it can have a huge difference on the life you live and the world you live in.
